Fixing "F2" key.
Recently my F2 key has kind of stopped working. I loaded a game of mine and tried to set up a hotkey for it and when I press my F2 key, for some reason, it yeilds a capital N. I don't know why this is happening. A short while ago (before I noticed the error) I did spill a drink on my keyboard, but I don't see how that would change the key. Any ideas?

EDIT: Actually, checking all of my F keys, only like 2 or 3 of them are actually mapped correctly. Is there a way to "reset" my mapping, or to remap them to fix them?

I would blame the spillage.

Open keyboard, clean it well, let it dry... or pick up a new/used one cheap elsewhere. I've used some of the cheapest keyboards the longest, while the expensive fancy ones seem to fail (why is that)?

I've had someone spill some water on an expensive Keyboard, I let it dry, cleaned it, it was still never recognized - needless to say I reverted to an old keyboard that works like a charm.

Well, the odd thing is that it's only my F keys that are messed up. The spillage happened over most of the letters. It's weird.

Upon further investigation. My F2 key is actually doing Ctrl+N.... I tried remapping the key, and found it's using my Left Ctrl key... odd.

I would just buy a new keyboard, they're quite cheap.

It's not a laptop is it ?

Can you post your keyboard make and model? What port type it uses? If it's not laptop of course...

If it is a laptop, post what model/make it is?

it's a BTC model 5213URF2
It's a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I would prefer to not buy another set, just for a couple of keys, he he.

The wireless kb/mouse is out of my league, I would contact a supervisor at BTC and ask them what's wrong with your kb - fail to mention the spill until you deem necessary however. Just let them know the symptoms and maybe they can help you fix or replace your hardware.
