Couple WinXP SP3 Questions
Is SP3 available on CD from Microsoft, and where do I order one? The reason I ask is there was an option on their site back when SP2 came out where you could either download it or have Microsoft mail you a CD for free. Are they doing that again?

Also....if I have to re-install windows, do I need to install SP1, SP2, and then SP3 or could I just do SP3 right after the initial install?

Bruce

You can install just SP3, since it has the SP2 updates as well (and SP2 has SP1 and so forth) - they're cumulative.

I don't think they'll mail it for free though, but you never know

You can make an SP3 CD yourself by downloading the ISO file and burning it to a CD as an Image.

ok, also....ever since I installed windows I have had it do all the updates that were available so my system is full of patches and fixes (gotta love microsoft! LOL) - do you think that wiping it out and reinstalling windows & just SP3 would reduce the clutter on my system? Is it worth it?

BML, you may want to read this:

SP3 is big. Almost like installing a new OS.
Look before you leap and take care.
Good luck.
