Problems with video drivers
Hey guys, its been a while since I have been on this forum but if I remember correctly, you guys are the best forum for a query like this. Okay so, I inherited an older PentiumIII system from my aunt the other day. I replaced the hard drive and proceeded to install a fresh copy of windows. It finished installing and I went to boot the PC and did not even get to login before I got a BSOD. I booted into safe mode and took off automatic restarts, then tried to boot normally again. Well the BSOD is caused by a looping driver error from "ati2dvaa". I looked it up and it is the driver for my video card.

I have tried installing multiple versions of drivers and still have had no luck. I cannot find a driver that will work. The video card is an ATI Rage Fury Maxx. It is an older ati agp card with 2 gpu's on it. Both have active cooling but i believe this used to be an overclocking/gaming pc back in its older days. The motherboard supports overclocking of the CPU and RAM. I have done alot of google searching about this issue and it seems that other have the exact same problem but this is a very old issue. I have found absolutely no definitive solution for this yet and I am hoping that you guys can help.

Xp pro
256mb SD RAM
PentiumIII @ 850mhz
Aopen motherboard
ATI Rage Fury Maxx

The problem lies in the fact that it's a 2 gpu card, the NT/XP system isn't designed to run 2 GPU's on the same bus. Have you disabled one of the GPU's on the card itself, there should be jumpers that allow you to do it. The card was essentially designed for a 98/ME system that could process the design of the 2 gpus ati implemented, but 2000/NT/XP won't work with the way ATI implemented the design.

I used to own an ATI Rage Pro, that's what you basically want to turn your card into for it to work properly by disabling one of the GPUs. I'm not sure if your card has those specific jumpers, but I'm crossin' my fingers for ya.
