Ad-Watch showing continuous registry modifications
I am running AdAware/AdWatch on Windows XP with IE6.
AdWatch is showing a continuous attempt to modify the registry. This is what the typical modification attempt log shows:
registry modification detected.

Ad-Watch event log
Root:HKEY_CURRENT USER
Key:software\microsoft\internetexplorer\main
value: search page
data:http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...ie&ar=iesearch
new data:http://www.google.com

Is this connected to MS' Windows Live Page that comes up with the opening of IE6?
Any input or help on what is going will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It looks like you had microsoft live search set as your search engine possibly when you installed a windows live component and then you installed something like google toolbar which wants to change it to google.

Did you approve or deny the change?

OR just turn off adwatch , make the change and turn it back on.

I have been using Google toolbar and search for a long time. And I use Firefox as my primary browser, using IE6 only for sites that require it. It appears that something is trying to change both my search engine and my IE6 home page. I have not been able to change the homepage away from MSN and MS Live.I did not authorize any change away from search or home page settings.
