Windows Automatic Update questions:
1. I've only occasionally updated Windows XP(maybe every half year), anyway I don't want to update stuff all the time in case microsoft releases a broken update or something(which I've heard many stories about that).

Does anyone know of a site or something that reviews the lastest Windows XP updates and checks whether they're "safe/stable" or not? I thought I remember hearing about a site that does that but can't find it.

2. When I put "Notify me but don't automatically install updates", I can select which updates I want to be downloaded installed right?

I remember setting on "Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install" and I didn't have an option to choose which ones I wanted to install/didn't want to install, so do I have an option with "Notify me but don't automatically install updates"?

For this you check the "Notify me but don't automatically install updates" option but when they "notify" you, go to the Microsoft Update website instead. Do not check "Express" Update. Instead, choose "Custom" . They will check which updates you need and will have options on which you want to install or not. Windows Update in XP will not do this; it is just an installer in disguise
