Remove Custom XP Boot Screen I recently tried to install the Windows XP SP3 update, which failed to install. I received an error code "0x8007F0CC", Which I researched to discover that it has to do with a change to the XP files that open a custom boot screen when windows starts up. I followed the removal instructions to uninstall the two programs I had that customize the bootscreen. I followed the removal for bootskin including the removal tool available on the website, and also removed all my Stardock software that customizes the look of the computer, just to make sure everything was gone that could cause problems. I also uninstalled Logon Studio. Now I am left with an older logon screen that I had and I have no Programs left that customize Windows. Is there a way that I can restore the original Boot screen so I can do the SP3 update, and hopefully remove the custom Screens from the registry? Any help would be great! Thank you! |
