Flash Player for Windows XP Pro
Hello all, I have downloaded adobe flash player & the super flash player & can't seem to get either one of them to work. I'd like to know how I'd go about fixing this problem?

What do you mean by "get them to work"? They are browser add-ons and only work for displaying Flash content in a web page. Does your browser not display Flash? What are you trying to do?

Well every time I try to go to a page that requires flash player in order to view it's contents I always get the error message of viewing this site requires flash player. I've downloaded flash player more times than I can count & still nothing.

OK. What browser do you usually use? Do you have any anti-malware programs installed? If you had Spybot, for example, you may have blocked the ability of the browser to accept any new add-ons in its settings. You will need to unblock them temporarily.

Also check in Internet Options, Programs tab, and check your add-ons to be sure they are enabled.

I'm using McAfee & it worked well with it before so I don't understand why it doesn't work now.

Recent versions of the Flash player plugin have to be uninstalled using a tool from Adobe. Subject to Elvandil's query about your browser and its settings (isn't McAfee an antivirus or firewall?), you could try using the uninstaller and then d/l a new plugin to see if that helps.

You can get the uninstaller from here; http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...4157&sliceId=1

Assuming that you are using IE, it's plugin is here; http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...x/English.html (read the instructions carefully, I think you have to install while online).

For Firefox or Opera you get an .exe file which is installed later by doubleclicking and, if you need it, it's here; http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

Thanks so much, that did the trick. I guess I had it installed too many times.

Thanks for letting us know it worked for you.

Be aware that version 10 of Flash player will be out soon, so you might have to go through the whole uninstall/install again (unless Adobe do some sort of automatic notification and updating).
