Unhappy Solved: Before I "send for the man."
I am having mega problems. The screens are not clearing away on command. I sometimes cannot log off and the Internet is too slow too catch cold.There always seem to be several programmes running although I try to get rid of them.
! am with BT using Windows XP. Can anyone make any suggestions before I "send for the man?"

routine maintenance

scan for spyware [free adaware or spybot]
scan for virus's [free online avast]
run chkdsk /r from the Run or cmd
run disk cleanup off the accessories/system tools menu
run defrag off the same mene
