Cannot get past welcome screen except in safe mode
Hi, wondering if anyone can help me. I can't seem to get past the welcome/user account screen on windows (xp) except in safe mode. A split second after I've clicked on the loader it immediately says logs straight back off again! Only way I can get into computer is in safe mode. I've done a virus scan and removed what I needed to and also ran a registry scan. But nothing so far has helped. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not that computer literate re terminology so step by step instructions will be needed!! Many thanks

Do you have any new updates from Microsoft? With the issue I have, I have run across an issue with Update KB932596. The reports on this update is to uninstall it and this should allow you to login. If not, try using MSConfig to load only what you want. You also can use it to figure out what program or file is preventing you to login.

Try uninstalling your video card driver and re-starting the PC.

go to Device Manager

To get to Device Manager click Start>>Run type devmgmt.msc click OK

Look down the list for Display Adapters
Click on the + sign to expand
Double click on your video card
Click on the Driver tab

Uninstall the Driver and restart the PC.

It should find the driver on startup and install it.

Thanks - how do I find this update? Also how do I use msconfig to load what I want or find out what's preventing me from logging on? Sorry, just not familiar with this, so used to just pointing the mouse and off we go!
