Dell Dimension 8400 won't boot-"Floppy Diskette seek failure"
I was preparing my Dell Dimension 8400 for a clean installation of Windows XP Home Edition; I checked the Dell site for BIOS upgrades (as recommended) and downloaded an available upgrade. Problems began when I tried to change the boot sequence in order to boot from the cd.
On bootup, the Dell logo screen appears and goes to a 'dos-like' screen advising: Floppy diskette seek failure, strike F1 key to continue or F2 to run Setup Utility'.
Neither of these keys have any effect and the computer does not respond. I have the required disks and have tried every combination I can think of.

Can any one offer some help?
