It would have been more informative to know what the blue screen said!

upon further examination I saw ViewpointService.exe. GAG!

It's funny you have anti-spyware applications, and yet you invite advertisers right in your front door with viewpoint.

Sorry it took me a while to reply back. I think the problem is fixed. I knew I should have written down what the problem was but just didn't. Then you asked, so I figured I'd start the scan again to recreate the problem. It scanned the computer just fine. Thanks.

However, ViewpointService.exe I don't even know what this is for. I don't recall downloading it, it may have been my husband.

It's adware. It usually gets installed along with something useful, and if you don't read the fine print in the EULA, or uncheck the box to opt out of it, then you'll get stuck with it. (sneaky tactic) Luckily, it's one piece of adware that I have had no problem removing. Look in control panel, add/remove programs and you should see "Viewpoint Media Player" in there, and you can uninstall it usually without a problem. BTW, thats another sneaky thing it does, claiming itself to be a media player. The only "Media" it plays is advertisements, it eats up internet bandwidth and memory on your PC too.

Thank you. When I went to uninstall it, I found out I've apparently had it for 2 years.

Hi. . .

My first suggestion is that you un-install STOPzilla! and SUPERAntiSpyware.

Look in the folder c:\windows\minidumps and gather ALL files - I don't care if there are a hundred.

Also, run msinfo32 - CLick on start | run | type msinfo32 and hit enter. Give it a moment to refresh, then save as an NFO file - Very important to be of use.

Lastly, I would like a Belarc Advisor report -
Belarc Advisor report saved as a web page (html, mht (IE7/8/firefox) or as a 2007 (only) Word document docx. You can download Belarc here -http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html .

Zip the mini dump files up along with the msinfo32 NFO file and the Belarc report and attach to your next post. I'll see what I can find in the dump files.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2
