Solved: Installing XP home on a eee
I have just purchased a Asus eee with Linux installed. I would like to install Windows XP home, which I have as it was used on my old laptop (which was old, crashed, and not worth fixing). However, the eee does not have a CD drive and although I have an external one available I don't think that will work as a boot drive.

I am told that it can be done. How could I install XP?

The eee will recognize an external cd drive as bootable . . check in the BIOS to make it the first boot device

Yes, that did it. I thought I was going to have problems with the driver for the CD drive but it worked with no problems. I am having other problems with the WinXp install but that is mostly with drivers which I will eventually overcome.
