unmountable_boot_volume
I have a Compact Evo N015v laptop and when I turn it on, I get an error message.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Technical information:
***STOP: 0x00000ED (0x82765900,0xc000032,0x00000000,0x00000000)

I have turned the computer off and tried to boot in safe mode, same result.

I have also tried to boot using the XP CD but the computer will not boot from it.

I have checked the BIOS and the CD drive is listed first. I can hear it start to spin, but nothing happens.

I do not have a recovery disk, and tried to make one, but it also failed.

Any assistance would be great.

Thank you

It means that your HDD is screwed up. you need to take it back (if it's under warranty) or buy a new drive

It s not under warranty. Got the computer second hand. Worked great for a while.

Don't want to give up that easy. There must be something I can do to fix it.
