Windows Server 2008 OS Disk Partitioning
Hi All,

I am about to buy a Dell server with 5 x 73Gb HDDs
I want the 1st two mirrored to run the OS Windows Server 2008 with 5 cals. The other 3 will be for data.

I wanted the whole 73Gb on each HDD to run the OS.

Dell say Windows Server Partitions are either 16,20,40 or 80Gb

The biggest partion I can have on a 73Gb HDD is 40Gb to run the OS

Is there a technical reason why we cannot use the whole of the disk to run the OS?

Please give me some tech help on this one

Ron

I see no reason why not. In fact, and 80 GB drive is really 73 GB's, so that may be exactly the right size.
