Exclamation Problem with MSN on Vista(Details inside)
Alright, I am using Windows Vista.

Since about three days ago I CANNOT logon into Msn Live Messenger nor the online Hotmail.com to check my e-mails.

It seems this problem also occurs when I try to buy things online like Ebay.

Msn Messenger gives me this error code: 80048820 (Extended: 80048439)

I tried all the suggest things in the Help Topic. Nothing worked.

The last suggestion is to :"Reregister the SSL security libraries"

Quote:

In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click in the Start Search box.

Type each of the following commands, and then press ENTER. After each command is executed successfully, you will receive a "DllRegisterServer succeeded" message. Wait until you receive this message before continuing to the next command.

* REGSVR32 softpub.dll
* REGSVR32 wintrust.dll
* REGSVR32 initpki.dll
* REGSVR32 Rsaenh.dll
* REGSVR32 Mssip32.dll
* REGSVR32 Cryptdlg.dll
* REGSVR32 Dssenh.dll
* REGSVR32 Gpkcsp.dll
* REGSVR32 Slbcsp.dll
* REGSVR32 Sccbase.dll
When I enter about half of the entries I get an error(The ones in bold):

So should I re-download the missing stuff? I don't understand wintrust because I redownloaded another one and it still doesn't work.

I really need help, hope I was clear enough.

P.S Googling the error code is a waste of time -_-

Bump, tried everything that I found on similar threads...

P.S If this is security related please move it. (Although is 50/50 I think more people could help me if it was in the security thread)

Try this . Go here and follow their instructions. This problem is related to the Microsoft Trust Verification tool.

I did a factory format of my computer. Seems like it fixed wintrust but I can't go on secure websites =/

The ones not entering with success are: inipki.dll Gpkcsp.dll Slbcsp.dll
