When you select a service you should see something like stop start restart the service just stop each one then reboot and post new hijack log.

Thanks for all your help so far, I was just about to tell you that I am giving up for the night so I'm glad you had to go anyways. As far as I can tell those services are stopped. When I click on them the only option is to start them, but it says they can not be started in safe mode. I'll try again tomorrow, but I think I might just end up backing up the files I need and just delete everything.

Do you have your vista disk?If so we can perform a repair install. But you may wait for the spyware people to help you it kinda sounds like you may have an infection. And from what I saw its probably from lime wire or one of thee similiar apps you have on your computer plus it is hard to help because Im limited in what I can ask you to do,in this forum.

Ok go ahead and install avast here is a link.
http://download.cnet.com/3001-2239_4...&part=dl-85737

If it ask to install a toolbar or google chrome decline. Also did you run the avg uninstaller? If not then please do so.
And it wouldnt hurt to run a quick scan with malwarebytes just make sure to update first.

Also if it were my machine I would disable these via msconfig but the choice is yours.

Also wouldnt hurt to defrag your machine.

Just decline installing anything other than the defrag app like toolbars etc.

Ok did you run the avg uninstaller??Also malarebytes? And try superantispyware.
And disabling the startup items I suggested will increase speed even more.
http://download.cnet.com/3001-8022_4...6e763d5f4bc779

If you do decide to install super anti spyware reboot then disable it from starting via msconfig unless you plan on purchasing it.
