Hi TSG!

Can you please help me . I have this laptop and it is allegedly top of the line or so i was told by the "techs" of clean my pc. Anywho long story short. My computer is running an abnormally amount of process at start up. When i open up task manager there are 99 processes running ! Can you please help doctor my computer. Or i will have to pay the 199 and take it to the Geek Squad if you think that will help.

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

Type msconfig

Click OK.

Select the Startup tab.

Other than hpWirelessAssistant, you can uncheck just about eveything in there.

Restart the computer.

Do as Phantom says disable all except entry below. Then do the following.

Hit start button at lower left hand corner of the screen.Then in the run box type services.msc right click Run As Admin. Find the service listed below,one at a time. left click it once you should have the option to either stop the service or restart it , stop the service then right click selected service select properties then change the startup type to manual then left click apply and move on to the next service.If the service is stopped and the startup type is manual then do nothing.

Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it.If tfc doesnt prompt a reboot then please do so manually.
