Office Computer won't stop restarting Hello,
I work at a non-profit domestic violence shelter and our shelter computer is having some issues. It is very important that I can recover the information off of this computer. It has our monthly statistics, employee payment info, etc. I need to recover all of this. Unfortunately for me, our higher ups have not put in precautions to backup our info.
Now, onto the issue. We are running a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop PC. It has Windows vista Home Basic. I turn on the desktop and log in, and within 30 seconds it logs off and restarts. It does the same thing if I sit at the log in screen.
I don't have any error messages. I don't think there is enough time for it to load. Now, what do I do?
edit: I can get it to boot up and stay in safe mode, but it won't boot up and stay when I click safe mode w/ networking. So, I'm assuming it's probably a virus that connects to the internet?
edit#2: I pulled the router from the PC and I can login and connect just fine. So, it must be a virus. I'm going to have to manually type the hijack this log over to my laptop to post it. Will do so in a few minutes.
I'm guessing this can now be moved to the virus section.
