Checking for file c
Get this error when turn computer on so I am trying to boot in safe made. Screen has please wait at the bottom of file list that has not changed for 15 min. How long should this take and what do I need to do next?

Windows is performing a disk check for file system errors on drive C: (typically because Windows was not shut down properly after the last session). How long it takes depends on the amount of data there is on that partition but you should see a percentage counter at all times once it has started.

If nothing seems to happening, try rebooting and let it run again. If still it hangs, the hard drive may be faulty. To confirm, test it with Seagate SeaTools for DOS via "Downloads" on this page:
