VISTA Ultimate Install
Dear All,

I am new to this forum, pls be patience with me as i couldn't find what i was looking for in previous discussions.
Ok here is my issue,
I have Sony Vaio laptop which came up with windows vista home premium, with 1GB Ram
Its 4 yr old pc though, Since i bought this , it never performed well at all, recently i was given vista ultimate to re install my windows to get better speed.
I have done re install but i think its not done well, now it became more complictaed, pc is not performing at ll, taking ages to open internet pages or programme pages too.

Could some one kindly guide me how to format properly windows vista as i could see its not done well.

Thanks
in Advance

Windows Vista Home Premium needs at least 2 GB of RAM to run properly.

Windows Vista Ultimate contains even more features and is more system-hungry.

If your Sony VAIO(unknown model number) laptop has only 1 GB of RAM, you added to its slowness by upgrading from Home Premium to Ultimate.

------------------------------------------------

You say you were "given" Windows Vista Ultimate.

Is it an original disc or a copied disc?

Were you able to activate it with Microsoft after it was installed?

Thank you for your kind reply.
Yes it was a original disc and got activated with microsoft.
I checked before installing with microsoft online for system requirement, and it was ok.
As per memory 1GB Ram itself came when i purchased.
I think it has not been formated well.As i could see all my files like pics documents ms office all were still sitting in the system.
I understand when you reinstall a new windows all should be wiped off from the system, but it didnt happen.
Can you think now where is the problem
Thanks again for suuport

Here is a good pictorial and instructional install guide that shows you how to do a "clean" install of Windows Vista.

------------------------------------------------------------

Go here and allow the Crucial System Scanner to load and run.

After it's finished and it displays a report, copy-and-paste the link to that report here so we can go there and view it.
