No Audio problem.
Last night my computer was just working fine. This morning I turned on my computer to find a red circle with an x next to the speaker symbol in icons bar in the lower right corner. Now I'm not eh greatest when it comes to computers, so at first I thought the mute button on my keyboard was on. When I tried to play a YouTube I couldn't get any sound. Almost two hours of internet searching and other things, I still don't have anything besides a pop up that says quote: "No Audio Output Device is installed." unquote.

Can anyone tell me whats going on and how to fix it? I'm running a Windows Vista Home Premium.

Please use the TSG System Info tool to let Tech's know the specs of your computer: http://static.techguy.org/download/SysInfo.exe Copy and paste the results here in your thread.
Also, if its a brand name system like an Acer,Dell or HP, please post the exact model of the system.

Is there a reason your not doing Windows updates? Your missing Service Pack 2?

You can install SP2 without using the Windows Update feature by going below and installing it this way.

After you have finished installing SP2 reboot then use Windows Update to finish updating your system.

Ok, I shut down my computer due to some freezing on my Mozella, hoping it would clear up. When I turned it back on I lost my audio again and the "No Audio Output Device is installed." is back.

Try running a Check Disk if you haven't in awhile.

These instructions should be the same for Vista.

No. Due to the history others have had with them, including my sister, I avoid them.

Do you mean scan disk or check disk?

Just follow those instructions and it will take you to Scan or Check, not sure what it's called in Vista; but it is achieved the same way.
