It means that Apple is deliberatley dragging their feet when it comes to making iTunes work on Vista as well as it does on XP.

yes i am able to download software but i still have problems as i dont always get the full program downloaded.

HHmmm, assuming it's not spyware-related, it could be due to vista / ie / network / ms or third party security app-- their default overtly restrictive & dumbed down settings[there're tons of settings too numerous to mention here].

Firstly, while you fix this, try getting itunes from here in this manner-- right-click the following link and select save target as: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....TunesSetup.exe

and/or just click this one: http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/

AAANNNNDDDD right-click the downloaded file, select run as administrator!!!!!!!!

Then I would:

2. To confirm it's an IE settings issue AND to avoid spending eons troubleshooting settings, try a different browser-- both IE-based and non-- here're some easy, quick ones to try that won't require spending too much time adding tons of necessary plugins, etc.:

Yes, unfortunately VBScript seems to have some odd problems in Vista at the moment I've not been able to find any answers for yet - will probably have to wait for MS to get their act together on that one. I was trying to download a digital certificate from Thawte and kept getting an error that a an 'object was expected' (IIRC the error code was 424). Tried googling for answers but nobody seems to know much about this as yet. In the end I had to download it via XP computer at work and export it via thumbdrive.

Apart from odd little things like this I'm enjoying the new 'puter and new OS. I've had few problems installing programs.

Are you looking for an email notifier, Guyzer?

One I could suggest is Mailwasher Free.

Only one email account can be used, though, but other than that it appears to work quite well with Vista. Make sure to both install as admin and run as same.

I am new to this and my biggest problem is I bought a HP Pavilion Slimline already loaded with Vista and I would like to install XP over it. How do I take out the Visata and install XP.

Take out Vista and install XP? Easy.......format and clean install with your retail copy of XP!!

Hi there...Okay, I am frustrated that I have to call on my husband to enter his "administrator password" just to do a simple game download. He doesn't want to give me the password--It's a control thing and I am not goin there. We have three computers at home and all computers requires password to download even a simple "virtual make-over" free trial software. I can't argue with him , again I am not goin there. Please give me some idea on how to debug his passwords etc that's keeping me from enjoying my computer. Thank you so much.
