DVD/CD Drive not working When I insert a disk in drive (MATSHITA UJ- 840D ATA), the light turns yellow like it's starting. I can hear the disk spin; then it just stops, and the light goes out. The drive won't play, read, or even recognize a disk in the drive.
I checked the device manager. It displays the disk drive with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. When I click on the device properties, it says:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I tried checking for solutions. Vista says that it could not load driver software. It begins checking for solutions and stops.
I've tried installing all the drivers I can find on the windows vista website and the hp website.
I don't know what to do because I have to have my disk drive to install software and burn disks.
Please help. |
