WindowsUpdate_80096004 WindowsUpdate_dt000
Installed Ultimate and things are going well. One problem keeps coming up, when downloading updates...

WindowsUpdate_80096004 WindowsUpdate_dt000 then it stops downloading updates. Help appreciated.

I should mention I was a beta tester and there have been some issues around beta testers not having their versions fully registered.

..cont
I tried that, using instructions from Microsoft. Here's what they said to do:

6.Rename the “SoftwareDistribution” and “CatRoot2” folders
============================================
1. Click on Start, and then Click on Run
2. Type CMD and press Enter key
3. In the DOS window, type the following commands and press Enter key after each command

1) NET STOP BITS
2) NET STOP WUAUSERV
3) NET STOP CRYPTSVC
4) REN C:\WINDOWS\SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION SD1
5) REN C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CatRoot2 CR2
6) NET START BITS
7) NET START WUAUSERV
8) NET START CRYPTSVC

After 1) NET STOP BITS, I got,
System 5 error has occurred, Access is Denied.

Unhappy Same Problem
Hi, I've the same problem, on a Vista Ultimate SP1 64 bits and wihout having been beta tester, so I doubt it's related.
Solution sugested above doesn't work for me, neither does the registration of automatic upatdes (regsvr32 wuaueng.dll in administator mode), or the following command file :
net stop cryptsvc
net stop wuauserv
