Flash Drive Prevents Shutdown How can I get my system to shut down properly (and stay shut down)?
With a 4GB flash drive installed & configured as readyboost, when I select 'shut down' from the start menu (the shut down option, not the configurable button in the start menu), the computer will shutdown & then restart, exactly as if I had selected the restart option.
This is 100% repeatable - happens every time I attempt to shut down with the 4GB flash drive installed. To actually shut down, I have to hold the power button on the case.
With the 4GB flash drive removed, the system shuts down just as it should.
The flash drive is from Transcend, and is listed as 'Windows ReadyBoost Supported' and 'Works with Windows Vista.'
