Solved: Vista does not index (search)
Mine is a desktop computer and yet Vista's indexing says it's reduced indexing speed to conserve battery power, I've also set "Never" to any 'turn of ??? device after ??? minutes of inactivity'. Mostly, however, even if the computer is not touched for 15 minutes, it'll say "Indexing speed is reduced due to user activity".

In other words, I can't use the search feature because it won't find anything because it won't index anything... please help.

Where does it say "reduced indexing speed to conserve battery power"?

I too am having this similar problem on my desktop. It NEVER indexes. It just gives me that stupid little message: Indexing speed is reduced due to user activity. Is there any way to jumpstart this?

Adjust the settings in the "Advanced Power settings". Does this help?
