Registry Question
I use Ccleaner everyday just to get rid of any junk files and for the past week it has been finding the same 32 problems in the registry. Everyday I remove them but they are back the next day, I tried to copy and paste all of the things it was showing but It wont allow me. 1 of the items begins with .qqq- 2 items begin with backupengine.backupengine 16 items begin with COMCTL. 1 begins with filter 10 begin with winssprov.dll and 2 begin with winsswebagent, An ideas on how to or if I should get rid of these?

If there is a way for me to show the actual list let me know and I will post it and let me know any other info that is needed. Thank you for any help.

backupengine and WinSSWebAgent.dll are part of Microsoft Windows OneCare Live. Do you have that installed.

Yes I do have that installed. Are the other files also associated with that? Here is a link to the image of what Ccleaner is showing http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/5492/untitledjk5.jpg

I couldn't confirm winssprov.dll

At this point it sounds like perhaps that cleaner program isn't very accurate. One reason care needs to be taken when using them.

One thing I would not be doing is using ccleaner in the registry anyway you are lucky as I have hosed some systems with that program. Want a nice "cleaner" that is safe as milk:

Does this program also clean the everyday files like cookies temp files? Also is there an option like on ccleaner where you can save certain cookies?

Registry cleaner pretty much behave all the same way, they look for dead, invalid, incorrect path, etc. entries and delete them

You should be careful with all of them, don't remove anything unless you think it is the problem.

Open CCleaner, make sure it is updated, scan for issues, fix all, click YES to backup, post the reg file here.

EDIT:

I saw the pic, the invalid entries are unused file extensions, which is okay.

unused file extensions means that if you make a file and call it whatever.coolfileextensions windows will automatically create an entry in the registry under HKCR called .coolfileextensions. Some program must be generating these files.

Thank you for your help! I think I'm just going to ignore it, I usually only clean out the ones that I know were from an uninstalled program or something so I'll probably just be better off to leave these alone.
