Vista doesn't support full screen MS-DOS sessions. That being the case, I guess the answer to your question is no, I don't know how to do it.

I think there is a program called a "DosBox" on the web, which MIGHT allow you to do it. I know it woked in XP but have no feedback on Vista.

The crashing should be a clue.

yea well, there are other strange things in vista. dosbox is usable, after the first time it starts acting, you restart it and its pretty much ok. I was playing wolfenstein3d on vista lol. thats all you can ask from laptop running vista, the overhead of this os is huge

Ms-Dos Reply
As you probably know Ms-dos is what used to run windows completly but the only windows programs that use the full dos system are windows 95 and 98. Windows today runs on a completly diffrent program witch represents DOS but isn't actually the program.
So to run Dos on vista u would have to run it through command prompt but first you would have to download it. Doing this could prove to be dangerous to your computer because Ms-DOS and windows vista would not reconise each other and try and deactivate each other witch could end up destroying both of them.

You can pretty close by right clicking the top bar and altering the sizes. I found that having the Screen buffer and the Window size set to 120 / 60 gave me about 90% coverage.

You might try Power Cmd. It's a very nice program that allows multiple, tabbed command windows, true copy and paste, logging of sessions, and much more (besides full screen, as illustrated in Vista).
