Exclamation URGENT!!! Power outage during first installation.
I read on the website that during an upgrade (not that it helps much), if one has a power outage during installation that the computer will reboot with the older version of windows. However, I just bought a new computer, and while I was installing Basic for the first time, the power went out. Now, every time I attempt to turn the computer on, I get "Windows restarted unexpectedly, and the installation cannot continue. Please restart the computer and restart the installation." (not word for word, btw).

WHAT DO I DO??? I need this computer very badly. (I'm on a friend's comp right now)

Only if the upgrade had not actually begun.

As above. reinstalling from scratch should fix it, but only as a clean install most likely.

One assumes all data was backed up anyway, as an upgrade should never be done on critical and unbacked up systems.

Try re-installing or system restore
