heres what you can try for the javascript problem on ie 7 go to tools, manage add ons where it says show click it change to add ons used by ie7. if you dont see java plug in redownload it install it restart computer. or check tools internet options advanced scroll down till you see java (sun) make sure its checkmarked. the latest version of java is 1.5.0 update 11. as far as the flash player problem check in your control panel the add/remove programs look for adobe flash player 9 active x 2.33 mb if you dont see it its not installed. go to www.softwarepatch.com and look for adobe flash player stand alone version. download and install it. then go back to your add/remove programs and you should see adobe flash player 9 active x with the size listed then you should be all set. i hope this helps.

I am having the same problems but the suggestions form this post did not work for me. I am using vista so I am sure that is the problem but I also know people who have vista who arent having any problems with flash so who knows. Are there any other fixes out there to get this to work?

similar problem
I am having a similar problem except I am using Windows XP. In addition to having problems with certain videos on youtube I also cannot get my BBC Ticker to work. I never used to have problems before so I can't imagine what the problem is. This is the message I get when I try to use my ticker though:

There is an error with Flash Player 8, or it is missing. Please quit and re-install Flash Player 8 for Internet Explorer.

Another weird thing about this that I just noticed is that I am using Firefox, not IE. I don't know if that would make a difference but I figured I might as well mention it.

Another problem I am having with this is that I have previously had flash working with this pc with vista but I had to do a restore and since then can not get it to work. I found these suggestions on a message board which worked for alot of people but not for me.
They also told me I am not in as an administrator but under my name it says I am and I am the only user so how do i know for sure?
