Exclamation *NEW* Vista installation problem..
Hey guys,

After posting in numerous forums, I had almost given up on upgrading to vista. However, you guys seem pretty knowledgable so i figure i'd come here for help. The problem is as follows:

--Trying to install Vista Business Edition

--I get several "problems" during the mandatory compatibility test before the install, however "these problems do not prevent installation"

--Everything goes through as normal (Copying files, gathering files) until "Extracting Files". The install always stops at 24% and gives the error message that the installation cannot boot into the next phase. to solve the problem please restart.. (something to that effect).

In other forums people have said that it was a problem with one of the programs i have that restricts access to the MBR (Master Boot Record). However, i disabled all the startup programs AND startup services, which i thought might get around that problem. No dice. Any suggestions???

Does your BIOS have virus protection? If so, it's important you disable that.
