Exclamation Multiple Issues. Need an expert
I recently reformatted my computer due to a nasty virus that could not be deleted even through Regedit. Even when I did delete what was needed I kept getting an error "Windows Explorer is not responding" and this error would reset every 10s not allowing me to do anything because of refreshing my entire desktop.

Anyhow, I decided to reformat the computer considering it was just bought less then 2 months ago and I didn't have much of a tie to anything on it any way. When I did however reformat and installed Vista again. I have a few errors and major problems that I need someone to contact me via e-mail or a messenger of some sort.

Here are the errors.
  • PCI Simple Communications Controller - Code 28 *No Drivers*
  • Sigma Tel High Definition Audio Codec - Three of them in device manager. 2 of them have a code 10.
  • Dxdiag shows I have "n/a" devices!

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) 6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)

Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode

My graphics card which is a, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. I had to go onto the Nvidia website and download a driver package. I am not even sure that I downloaded the correct one.

As you can see I am in need of serious help. Help a girl out here!! I used to be pretty decent with computers. Now that I am in high end gaming. Such as FEAR and WOW I really need to get my system back on track.

You can contact me on:
Yahoo: graphexsphreak
MSN: meyecrobeathotmail.com
E-mail: Above
Or respond in this thread.

Thank you so much for even reading this. Here is the rest of my dxdiag to maybe help diagnose the problem.

You will need to go to the maker of your system [if pre-built] or the maker of your motherboard and download the nic and sound drivers. Once installed, those errors will disappear.

If you had the time could you maybe direct me in the right direction to finding what my motherboard is? Where to get those drivers? I wonder when I re-formatted with the disk they gave me how come those drivers aren't included?? Ugh, the pains of getting a newer top of the line computer. You would think I would know what I am doing =[

We can probably point you in the correct direction however you need to post exact specs on our system ie make and model if pre-built OR make, model, and ver# of motherboard if it is a custom build.

It is a pre-built system. This is all I can think of that could help you and I. Thank you for such a timely response.

If it is a pre-built system, then there is a name ie dell, gateway, etc on the system along with a model number. If you had this system custom built, then it came with a manual that lists what it is [and probably a support CD]

Yes, it is a gateway. Although the only disc they gave me was the Operating System Disc. Of course that is what I used when I reformatted the computer.

I think this is what I need and I did the steps up to the installation. If you could double check just to make sure this is what I need to fix my computer.

Edit: The steps it told me to do. This is a MQ96510J.XXX.XXXX

Gateways have model numbers somewhere...invoice, plate on back of tower, sticker on side of tower and we need the model number to tell you how to find the drivers.

That read me is from a bios update; that is NOT what you need to install.

Have you tried the Microsoft Update to search for any available updated drivers?
