Is this a Vista Upgrade .. or did it come loaded with the computer ???

I can't get the audio recording to work on this Vista "upgraded" computer either...
But my XP boot works fine.
A lot of us here use the free Audacity for recording Audio ...

Are you trying to record signal from a microphone?

Are you trying to record signal / data from an online site [ streaming media ]?

Are you trying to record signal / data from a CD or DVD that you are playing?

Which sound card are you using? If the audio chip is built into the motherboard, which motherboard?

Is this an OEM [ Dell, Gateway, HP ] computer?

I am having trouble understanding your issue.

Have you EVER been able to record successfully?
