Question Annoying pop-up message from Windows

This is word for word what the message says,

ATI External Event Utility EXE Module stopped working and was closed.
(A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows
will notify you if a solution is available)

I bought this computer 1/28 and have seen this ocurring message almost daily since Jan 07.I went to maintenance area of OS and they list all the dates/times when this message
appeared, and believe me, it is a long list. Windows hasn't contacted me to solve this problem and I don't know where to turn. I went to the Boise Library and picked up a PC World Web directory book and they listed this site as an excellent website, I have posted this message on Windows Vista Commnunities,(performance and maintenance) NO REPLY! Checked PC World website forums for support. NO REPLY! What now? So, I turned to the book and found your listing and I am hoping I can do something to fix the problem.

Its a problem with your ATI Radeon video card driver.

Go to the Control Panel and open Programs and Features to uninstall the current ATI Software. Then install the latest ATI Radeon/Catalyst suite: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Thank you, Triple6.....Here is what I have done, followed your instructions and performed a ATI Catalyst update, without having to uninstall. So, far it appears it has worked, now my next question....If I go back to Maintenance, can I delete all that long list etc.
