Yes, I did. I started Windows in safe mode to be sure everything was completely uninstalled and that there was no hidden device going around... But it didn't work at all either.
Again, we'll just have to wait...
Or else continue to look over Google for further solutions.
Thanks anyway!

I did the exact same thing.

Restore point to April 9th or so. No more problems.

I have yet to update window. I guess I am now vulnerable to stuff. I'm leaving it alone till I hear things are fixed or figure out the real problem. At least this is a stopgap and I can run my virus software again.

Barracuda,

Disabling Floppy Controller did nothing for me, I also have all updates loaded from microsoft, I have multiple devices (Card Readers) which use Drive designations My Hard drive is listed as H Drive instead of the normal C. I am curious of all the folks having problem what there hard drive is listed as. I am wondering if there isn't a program or programs looking for data on the C Drive, which on my computer is A Card reader.....
I am going to remove all of my Drives with the exception of the hard drive this should force the hard drive to come up as the C Drive...... I will post if it has any affect....

Here is a little explain of what I did.

I have 5 Drives that are associated with an Internal USB Media Card reader. I disabled all of these and was able to get the error message to stop popping up. I then Uninstalled all of the devices rebooted the computer and when windows went out and rediscovered them, yes you guessed it, I started recieving the wonderful error again, disabled them all again and the error stopped. I am thinking on my system this has something to do with the Generic USB Drivers in windows, or as I said before that something is trying to read from a drive that has no disk present..... I am going to tomorrow try and disconnect the drive devices tomorrow uninstall, and then go through the steps again to reinstall to see if the error reappears. This was a brand new system I built and I am running XP Pro.

Dave, My hard drive is listed as a F: drive. When I last reinstalled XP, somehow I ended up with an F: drive. Has not caused a problem but I too am interested if there is a connection.

I'll review my fix...Restore Point back to the 9th or so.

After updating all windows updates EXCEPT the Malicious Software Finder Thing( I am just afraid that is part of the problem since this message happens only when I run my CA virus software).

Still no error message.

I'm still thinking this is a Windows software update issue. This was a very simple fix and all my drives, USB or not, work just fine with no adjustment to settings.

Usb
disabling the USB drives worked for me. The person I support had a lot of media drives.

I'm lucky she doesn't use them all the time, so I just diabled them and since her auto update is on I am hoping Microsoft fixes the problem before she needs them.

Thanks for the help on this one guys!!

c0000013 error
This problem has to do with your card readers My friend has one built in to his emprex dvd burner and this drove me nuts. I finally figured out this was created by the 12in1 card reader. I have disconnected and reconnected several times to confirm. So uncle bill installed an update that affected this for some reason (my opinion) try to disable any card readers you have installed and see if this does the same for you..

OK my experience so far

Starting getting the aforementioned error message about two weeks ago, this also coincided with blue windows errors appearing requesting me to insert the windows disk to boot. I was still able to access my desktop by either clicking continue several times or in the case of the blue screen error shutting off the power and then turning it back on.

I formatted yesterday and reinstalled all the previous hardware, I encountered no further error message until....I reinstalled AVG anti virus. Upon restarting my computer I received the error message "AVG No Disk" As we all know AVG is a download and requires no disk to run the program.

I quickly restarted my computer again and sure enough the Exception processing error message returned.

At this point having just spent two hours formatting the computer I was pretty agro so I called Microsoft directly. The women(moron)that I spoke too told me the Exception processing error is specifically a problem for those using AVG and McAfee Virus programs and that I should contact AVG to obtain a fix. Essentially washed her hands of any responsibility. Aas we have seen on this forum alone the problem is not one which is for those using AVG and McAfee only and my continued searching regarding this problem has not yielded any definable common program EXCEPT WINDOWS XP.

Anyway, I removed all my AVG antivirus software just incase and hey presto no error message upon restarting my computer, I tried several subsequent restarts after using various programs I have installed still no error message upon restart.

Today I went to start my computer.....Blue screen error requesting windows disk for boot had to restart in last known good configuration, but still did not receive the exception processing error at any time since I removed AVG.

All of this started the day following the receipt of my most recent windows updates, there must be some conflict between the most recent update and several commonly used programs, not sure what that conflict is only guessing really.

Will update if any further information comes to hand

c0000013 error Typical MS response
This is a typical response from microsoft as the phone support are morons usually!! This was happening on several programs but as I said before it was related to the USb 12in1 card reader. The computer has been running great since disconnecting this and it has been 3 days now without a problem. Also has all the current microsoft updates. He is running Grisoft AVG and it was doing the same as you also Spybot S&D was doing it also but as I said by disconnecting the 12in1 ALL problems. MS knows they have a problem and as usual afraid to admit it.

No worries, will disable and see how she goes.

My most significant problem at the moment is this blue screen error on start up, if the computer is left for say 4 hours and I switch it on it won't boot and gives me the bluescreen boot error message...

Fingers crossed
