Yes. Just erase your drive and install XP.

If you are asking if you can go from Vista to XP and save your programs and settings, then "No".

If your PC is a custom build - you can buy XP and install it... Getting a notebook or desktop - from Dell/HPAQ and others will require you to track down XP drivers.

You'd still need to buy an XP CD. You can purchase an OEM CD such as Media Center Edition for about $120.

Never. I doubt you'll see Vista supporting many additional applications that don't currently run. Microsoft expects the software makers to update to support Vista. It also gives them the opportunity to charge you for an upgrade.

On the other hand, there are really very few apps that I have found trouble with in Vista. I needed to move a few dll's from XP and install some runtimes, but 99% of my XP apps work in Vista.

I agree with Elvandil. I had some utilities like jv16 go belly up and Partition Magic which is a really old program now. Acronis Disk Director required new version, Sonic Recordnow max died as did Hp Printer drivers and wireless internet adapter drivers but all in all, it was an easy update.

Do you have any programs that came with your lap-tops that can PARTITION or REFORMAT your hard drives ??

If not, I suggest not installing Vista over XP there is no reason to do so. Your going to need some kind of TOOL or DIAGNOSTICS from someone who is knowledgable and can assist you with laptops. I personally only build PC's, and im not einstein, nor GOD.

Use PaRtIoNer, and you should be well off. If this is too difficult, IM me.
