what do you like about Vista?
I just bought an Acer T130 (just out) with an AMD 64 2x dual core 2.0Ghz, 1 gig of ram, and 250GB HDD pre-loaded with Vista home premium. I really like the system. I just installed winamp 5.3 and it runs smooth.

I think this box will run stellar with 2GB RAM. cant wait till payday.

I like the new feature that lets you adjust the volume on a per application basis.

I love the sidebar gadgets...I don't know why, but they keep me entertained.

Well it certainly runs a much smoother and cleaner desktop and application process.
It's an extremely high tech look reminiscent of the Mac gadgetry. Hmmmm, I'm wondering if Mac assisted in the creation?
Google Desktop has run the same type of Desktop for quite some time as well, so I'm checking out exactly what differences Vista has really introduced.
I like the windows live features, but I don't care much for the controls it consistently tosses up. You have to dig for the fixes to a lot of the problems with peripherals, and that gets fairly old, fairly quick.
The downloads from Microsoft for the updates tends to slow down the internet processes considerably, and without any notification.
Video background desktop is very nice, and the options to choose the formats for the desktop are extremely nice.
I'm waiting for the 1st SP updates and we'll see where we go from there.

They added a video desktop? That's one of the little things I was hoping for in XP. That and a startup video. I know you could put a little video in Startup, but it's not the same.

I think the part I liked best was how easily the DVD shattered when it went into the trash can to await a well deserved trip to the landfill.

ya
-I like the start search box too.. its right there and you can search with just a letter this time.

-volume on a per app basis.. sounds interesting.

-and of course the switch between windows and the people near me feature (for ppl on the same subnet )... its just plain cool.

thanks for the feedback.
