An XP boot floppy, but on CD. Not sure if this is what you mean, please elaborate on what types of boot CD I could make.

Many thanks!

Well, there isn't really an XP boot floppy that can do much. But, depending what you plan to do, or for possible future use, you can make an XP Boot CD containing the XP Recovery Console. The option to install is there, but won't work, of course, since XP's other files are not on the CD.

Thanks for the advice Elvandil... my original problem is quoted here - http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt...ger-boots.html

Do you think creating this disk may help this problem?

Thanks again.

Well, fixboot and fixmbr, as well as bootcfg are available repairs on the CD. So, yes, that would be a good place to start. You can also run chkdsk from the CD.

I'd try using a PS/2 keyboard, too.

One caveat when using this (or any other) boot CD---Be sure you are working with the partition you want to work with. Don't rely completely on drive letters since they may be different than they are in XP.

On the RC CD, the command "map" will tell you what letters have been assigned to which partitions.
