Windows Vista loaded in German , language change possible ?
Hi

I have just purchased a new Notebook , its on its was via postal service so Im trying to find info before I get it.

It comes loaded with Windows Vista but German version becuase I purchased it in Germany. Is it possible I can change language to English ?

If not is their any other way I can load Vista in English ?

Thx for any info...

I know with windows XP you can simply borrow a CD in English and use your own Key, this possible with Vista...

If the notebook has pre-installed Vista, it likely uses a "royalty key" version of Windows, that will not install with another disk.

Another copy of Vista in the language of your country is probably required.

The anti-piracy in Vista is quite tough, I doubt it will be as aesy as you suggest.

Go to Regional And Language Options in Control Panel. Set the options there for the language you want. You can change the language used in menus and dialogs, but the transformation is not likely to be complete. You will need to buy the English version and install it on a clean drive for a complete English version.

you may want to upgrade anyway from home basic - i have read here thats is not so good OS
or if the hardware has XP drivers support, you could just buy XP - quite cheaply and install

How much memory does the laptop have ?
