Dual OS - XP and Vista HP
Intel P4 3Gh. I have XP installed on my C drive with all AV and antispyware protection & software firewall. I have just clean-installed Vista HP on another partition. I will eventually uninstall XP but in the meantime do I install antivirus and anti-spyware programs and firewall on Vista? My current AV & antispyware are compatible with Vista but not ZoneAlarm Free yet. I need advice please!

Vista has a moderately good 2 way firewall unlike the one way firewall of XP.

If you are using a NAT enabled router and the Vista firewall, you should have no need for Zone Alarm, (unless you surf and download very unwisely).

Thankyou kiwiguy. Can I assume then that my current AV and antispyware will protect Vist too?

Only if you actually install them on Vista.

If you boot into Vista, it will have no knowledge of any software loaded under XP.

That is exactly what I needed to know. Many thanks.
