Migrate from 64-Bit Ultimate to 32-Bit Home Premium
Have a new computer (home built) using 975XBX2 and E6600 chip and 4GB ram. Went with 64-Bit Ultimate (was free in OEM package - should have asked for 32-Bit). Anyway, water under the bridge. I've had it with 64-bit Ultimate due to multiple driver issues, I don't need it and I want to do a clean install of 32-Bit Home Premium until 64-bit is more mainstream. My hunch is a partition delete and clean install, but can I do this from the 32-Bit Vista disk or is there another route I need to take? I'm reading stories of peoples nightmares trying to remove Vista. The 64-Bit was a clean install. Baiscally, I don't want to try it until I'm sure this is the route.

Well, I did it... Here's how for anyone that needs to move from 64-Bit to 32-Bit (My 64 came free with the machine, so I had to buy 32-Bit to do this and I migrated from Ultimate-64 to Home Professional-32).

1. You need to do the bootsect work, plenty of info on how to do this or use a program. This will allow you to boot from the DVD.
2. Select custom install. Delete the partition, build a new partition, re-format it and then install it.

That's it. 32-bit running like a champ.
