NTLDR missing, custom build I custom built my computer AMD 4200 64 processor GeFORCE6100SM-M motherboard 1gig ddr2 ram. that was all new, i kept the original(e machine) HD and dvd and CD drive. Now the motherboard only has one IDE plug so i am running my HD as master and the CD as slave. bought VISTA for two reasons one i needed an OS and because it uses the 64 bit processors. i formatted my HD using another comp's disc manager. when i try to install vista i get the NTLDR missing error, it detects the array or whatever then NTLDR MISSING CTR-ALT-DEL to restart.
THIS is what i have tried from reading other posts
checked bios HD and CD are detected and seen, CD is set as first BOOT device(have tried both ways no luck) nothing is in the floppy drive no removable drive is plugged in. i have used both DVD and CD rom drives same problem. checked cables unplugged replugged switched cords three times (three entirely different ide cables) same problem made the CD the master the HD the slave wouldn't recognize the HD and yes i checked to make sure it was set on the HD as slave and the dvd was set master.
i cant even remember other things i have tried.
IF anyone can give some assistance PLEASE help!! i have put too much money into this to go get it checked or keep buying things to SEE if they work. |
