Exclamation Missing Windows Help and Support in Vista & Producing an Error
Newbie here so sorry if this question has already been addressed. I've found some documentation for my question online but I'm still a bit confused.

Whenever I click on the help links in Vista or any "click here for more information" I get a help window pop up that says...Windows Help and Support in the title bar but the actual page is blank; then a download window that says "0% of from windows completed in the title bar and it shows the downloading animation with the earth icon loading pages into the folder icon and it says "Getting file information / from windows"

But instantly an error window pops up over that...

"Internet Explorer can not download / from windows.
Internet Explorer was unable to open this Internet site.
The requested site is either unavailable or
cannot be found. Please try again later".

So, basically what I'm wondering is where is my Windows Help and Support application for Vista and if Help and Support doesn't come with Vista (I did read this online) then why does the window still TRY to open and why did they add links in Vista elements for Windows help and support???

I'm so confused any help or even just a point in the right direction would be very much appreciated. It's hard to learn a new OS with no help feature. Not that I used it a lot in XP but it did come in handy now and then.

Thank you

Your problem is a little different from a normal bug which exists, but nevertheless, run this program and see if it solves it

Windows Help and Support not working after Vista reinstallation
I recently had to reinstall Vista and the Help and Support now does not work. It only comes up as a simple text page with no searching options or on-line access. The following text appears:

I tried the "Fix_Help_and_Support.zip" file as already suggested but this did not appear to work. Unless it placed this in the wrong place. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Vista Help and Support not working
I have just activated the Guest log-on feature (was always logged on to Vista as Administrator) and checked the "Help and Support" feature here. This appear to work OK as a guest. Logging off and back in as the Administrator (preferred) I have the same poblem with the Help and Support not working. Any ideas?

Yes I tried this as well and this was unsuccessful. A bit confused here. Maybe I need to copy some of the setting from the guest settings to the Administrator setting but not sure how to do this or where to look.

Hello djdaisy,
Did you find a solution yet for your problem with Windows Help and Support in Windows Vista?
I have exactly the same problem. Help and Support is ok when I log on with the guest account. As soon as I return to the administrator account it is not working. Hope to hear from you soon.

I thank you so much. I now have help but the graphics in help are missing. All I get is the box with the red x in it. It's not a huge deal - just not quite right.
