Vista Problems
Hi,

Ive just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and so far i have encountered a number of problems that i cant seem to fix and windows help and microsoft dont provide any answers.

The main issue is that since i installed my nForce 4 drivers I BSOD every so often when a sound is played. Windows Solution thing said that this is due to an audio codec from the nForce 4 drivers and that the automatic updates would cover this, i have downloaded the update and still the problem persists. The error message one I restart is:

"Download updates for NVIDIA nForce Audio Driver (nvmcp.sys)

This problem was caused by NVIDIA nForce Audio Driver (nvmcp.sys). NVIDIA nForce Audio Driver (nvmcp.sys) was created by NVIDIA Corporation.

An update is available from Microsoft Update that will solve this problem."

And the extra information about the error:

BCCode: d1
BCP1: 807470EC
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 8BEF07A0
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Also I cant get Windows + Tab to work and where do i turn on the transparent windows?

Can anyone help me?
TYVM,

Arcy

Have a Google for the first line of the error code. I found this one amongst many posts and forums. It may simply be a bug with the Vista error reporting system.

"This is from one of the Windows XP Newsgroups: --- WindowsXP error reporting features are buggy and might continue to suggest your system has had some sort of STOP error, even when everything is normal. This is a common complaint in this newsgroup, so you are not alone. If you ever has need to troubleshoot a specific repeatable crash, turn on "complete memory dump" for analysis --- Their suggestion was the same as Steve's: disable the error reporting. Of course, if you start having real problems (blue screen of death), then you might want to turn it back on to see what's happening. Gotta love Microsoft!"

You should try switching to the Realtek HD audio driver, according the DFI site you have a Realtek ALC850 8-channel audio CODEC.

You can find that driver here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs
