Video Problems In Vista
Hi, I recently upgraded my PC to windows vista business edition...

I have installed the drivers for my ati x800gt from the new vista catalyst drivers on the ati website. but now when i go into a game, it will work for about 2 seconds and then flicker and remain on the same screen, i know its video problems because i can hear the game going on in the background, it just the video is not working...

does anyone have any kind of fix for this???

Similar Problem
I am also having a similar issue with an x800gt which in my case is a Powercolor model x800gt 256mb video card. Same exact description though, running shadowrun. Gets into the game and starts flickering immediately. Sound continues as normal in the background. Get back to me if you find a solution, btw what game are you trying to run and getting this error with?

mine is the powercolor model, exactly the same as yours. this has happened in every game ive tried, like command and conquer 3 and stalker and a few others, ive downgraded my operating system back to xp pro now. luckily i got a free legitimate copy of vista from my university, i like the look and feel of vista, it just needs some bugs working out before i will use it again, i will probably upgrade my hardware first aswell.

I think there may just be a problem with this particular card. also i was having problems with videos, they were playing in a far poorer quality than what they do in xp. its probably a driver issue with vista. so maybe it will fix this in the next driver update from ati.
