Solved: EISA partition
Hi All,

I finally deleted a 7 gig eisa partition from my laptop hard drive that my comps manufacturer had been using to store restore files. But when I opened disk managment it would not let me extend my c drive into this new, unallocated space. I can turn the space into its own simple partition, but I cannot merge it with another partition. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You probably will have to use a 3rd party partitioning utility to do that. I've found that while Vista's partitioning is better than XP, it's not as good as things like Acronis Disk Director or Partition Magic.

ok, so partition magic apparently does not work on vista. but acronis does. However it still will not let me extend my drive. When i try to, it goes through its usual process, reboots a couple of times and... does absolutely nothing. the unallocated space is still there and there's no error message. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try it from CD. It sounds like you are doing it from within Vista.

The PM boot media should work, too.
