Solved: vista recycle bin missing
Yesterday I helped a friend set up her new computer with vista on it. I put the desktop back to the classic version and everything else came to the desktop. Before I did that I couldn't find the recycle bin. I even did a search for it and it found nothing. When I changed it to classic view it still is missing. I'm not there right now, but have to go back over and do a couple other things. Can anyone tell me how to find the recycle bin please?

Right-click on your desktop and choose Personalize

Click on the Change Desktop Icons link in the upper left hand corner

In the Desktop Icons Settings window, check the Recycle Bin box and click OK

Question Recycle Bin Location
Do you know the location of the recycle bin in Vista. I have found $Recycle.Bin; however, this location does not hold and files listed in the recycle bin on the desktop. It appears empty. I have also used the Recyled and Recycler with file not found as well as $Recycle.Bin\"SID". Any ideas?

Going through cmd "log-off batch file deletion for multiple users"

It worked!
Kama64,

I too accidentally deleted my Recycle Bin. I thought I was going to have to reload the entire Vista operating system again to get it back. I really appreciate your assistance as well as everyone else in making things alot easier!

I followed your procedure and it was back in seconds! Thanks again!
