Unhappy Solved: Slow loading or non-loading internet pages
Okay, here I am again. I've already posted regarding this problem, but I thought I had it fixed when I restored my computer to factory settings. No such luck, the problem has returned. This time I will be more specific about what is going on. I can not access any microsoft web pages, I can not update, I can't access my hotmail account, can't use messenger (kids are going crazy without it). I have had norton installed and ran a scan, no problems detected. Now i uninstalled it. Please let me know what to do now. I personally think it has something to do with Messenger not being compatible with Vista, so for now I've uninstalled Messenger also. What are some good free virus and spyware programs that I can run? Here is my current Hijack log.

On June 4, 2007, AVG released a new version of AVG Anti-Spyware that is compatible with Vista and 64-bit versions of Windows.

One glitch is that it won't run in safe mode and a registry patch has been offered to fix that until they can update the program itself.

You can get the patch here:

Well, I've run SuperAntiSpyware with antivirus and found a few tracking cookies, but thats all. Then I ran the Microtrend online scan and found nothing. Avg Anti Spyware found nothing. Webroot Spy Sweeper again found a couple of tracking cookies, which it would not remove of course without purchasing the software. So, here is the new Hijack Log. Any new suggestions? The status of my computer has not improved at all.

Hi, If they found nada, then it's fairly certain that nothing malware related is causing the problem, but to make more certain I am going to ask some of the helpers with Vista experience to take a look at the thread, be patient and expect a reply or two from someone....

Doesn't anyone have any suggestions?
I've been quite patient, but no one has responded for some time. Does this mean no one knows what the problem is, or have I just been overlooked? Please help!!!!!!

Hi, OK, let me move the thread to our Vista forum and see what they can come up with....

I see you posted at PC Pitstop forums, but did not post your HJT log, at least I didn't see any you posted.

For all those Internet related things to be not working, I'm thinking they are simply being blocked by a firewall or other security program?

Problem may be solved
As I was browsing through the forums, I came across some posts suggesting to roll back network drivers. I did this and the problem seems to be solved, however, now that I have tried so many different things, I want to make sure that my computer is safe. I have restored all internet settings to defaults in internet explorer, but should I have windows defender enabled, and what about the phishing filter? How should I have these set up? Also, for anti-virus and spyware protection, I currently have AVG Anti spyware 7.5 and SuperAntiSpyware installed. What else should I have as well or instead of and how should I have the settings set up?
