Can no longer access my administrator account As newbish as this sounds I need help getting Vista to recognise my admin status.
This isnt a simple UAC change or a run as admin issue.
I decided to connect my laptop to my work domain where I have admin privelleges.
I used a generic Admin account to set up the connection no hassles.
Added my username as an admin on laptop which also had admin rights on the domain.
It started when i tried to use a program and it said invalid cd key ..after a few minutes I realised it was due to security and my current admin Status(thought I was an Admin apparently not wtf)
Now I can no longer use the Admin account I had before joining the domain (***\localuser *** dosnt like password no idea why ??)..which is ok
It also dosnt recognise the administrator account I used to set up the network connection.
Now heres where it gets interesting
..I can see the other 2 administrator accounts but it does not validate either password and Im convinced that I am entering them both correctly. I cannot run as Admin/switch user as admin
or change any settings .
Ive looked at guides on how to lock yourself out of Vista and i didnt perform anything of the sort. Its nothing to do with group policy on the network etc ..basically i dont have local admin rights ..im at a loss to explain how thats possible
If anyone has any suggestions on why or how to resolve please say
* I should also mention that this is OEM ultimate and was installed and shipped out without the discs.
So making a password reset disk or manipulating the sam isnt a current option
