Smile Solved: Windows Vista Activation?
Recently I bought a new DELL laptop Inspiron 1501 with Windows Vista Home Basic OEMAct installed. I started the laptop when I got home, but the installation language was in Hungarian, I do not understand Hungarian and have little knowledge of laptops so I clicked enter to start installation hoping that the windows would be in English, but after the installation I discovered that my windows was in Hungarian. I was told that I skipped the place to change the language at the earlier stage. I tried "system restore", but that couldn't solve it. Then I had to reinstall the window vista with my friend's cd ram English version of windows vista home basic but not OEMAct like mine though I installed it with my own original product key as it's written under my laptop. When I completed the new installation I was prompted to activate my windows, and I did, but the Microsoft site says that the product key of my windows is invalid.

Please can any one advice me on what to do to solve this problem? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
Kings

I figured out how I solved my problem. So this is how I solved it incase someone may have the same problem in the future. My Original product Key was identified as invalid key by microsoft because my product key is for "Dell Windows Vista OEMAct", while my friend's windows vista cd ram I used to reinstalled my windows vista was not a "Dell Windows Vista OEMAct" that was the reason my windows was not validated by microsoft and my product key was identified as invalid. I have reinstalled my windows vista since then with a "Dell Windows Vista OEMAct" cd ram with my windows product key and it's validated and allow for windows updates. So I will mark this Thread as Solved! Thx.
